1971 Triumph TR6, (Commission # CC66555L), 96,800 miles, , Excellent Driver. Desirable early pre-emissions (higher compression ratio 8.5:1 engine) car. Color: Carmine Red (Triumph Paint Code 82) (Dupont 43019) (originally darker Damson (17)). Light Tan Interior in excellent condition. Engine very strong (pulls like a proper TR tractor engine) (inline 6-cylinder, 2498cc/2.5 liter) with excellent oil pressure (90 lbs cold/50 lbs warm at speed/20 lbs hot idle)., , History: I have owned this TR for the past 17 years (acquired 1994) and put a lot of love, sweat, blood, treasure and time into it (but no tears). It has never let me down or left me stranded on the side of the road. Over these 17 years I’ve done too much work to list fully but includes many Performance Upgrades:, , Professional frame repair (done 1994) at rear IRS Trailing Arm mounting points by expert Jerry Carlson’s (RI) restoration shop with proper alignment jigs and structural custom frame repair sections (many TR6’s need this repair and Jerry’s shop developed the TR6 market-standard frame section repair kit); new replacement gas tank; complete brake system renewal on all four corners with new rotors, “Fast Road” EBC High Performance Green Stuff™ Kevlar brake pads; rebuilt calipers, new brake hoses, new OEM Gerling brake Servo and Master Cylinder; Speedbleeders (one-way bleeder valves to make bleeding brakes a snap); new HDPE transmission tunnel cover; freshly restored/rebuilt Speedometer (by Nisonger); new clutch slave and master cylinder; Magnecor 8.5 mm Competition High Performance Ignition Wires; Lucas 40,000 volt “Sport” Coil; correct Champion RN-12YC Spark Plugs; Stainless Steel (lifetime) Falcon (Stock) complete exhaust system (with lovely “stock” exhaust note); rebuilt twin 1.75 CD-2-SE Zenith-Stromberg Carburettors; Ram Flow Chrome-Plated high-performance foam air filters; new U-Joints; Pirelli P6000 195 VR 15 (Summer High Performance Compound) tires with excellent tread on Original Triumph 5.5J x 15 inch wheels; excellent structural rear-telescopic shock conversion with performance SPAX Dampers; Optima “Red Top” Gel Battery. Out of an abundance of precaution (Dec. 2009) professionally replaced the thrust washers and main bearings on the bottom end to ensure crankshaft endfloat to spec 0.006 (work done by Brit Bits, NH). New high-torque gear reduction starter. , , Weakest points: Some early history of typical rust issues on sills/rockers and front wings (cosmetically repaired with body work 18 years ago by previous owner and still looks very good, but for concours-level restoration you may eventually want to replace with new body panels which are readily available); front bumper chrome excellent, rear bumper chrome fair; could really use a new convertible top (also comes with like new convertible top stowage “boot cover” [dark tan]); new carpets would be nice if your budget allows (current set presentable); you may also want to refinish or replace the original wood dash. Needs nothing mechanically that I am aware of. A very presentable and handsome Triumph roadster with strong shiny paint, thoroughly reliable and a blast to drive—ready for any adventure., , This TR6 is my spring/summer daily driver, used regularly (no winters). Wife says I have “too many damn British cars” and this much loved one, my first LBC, now has to go. , , Reduced from $12,900 to $10,900 or best offer. Motivated seller.
