One of only 7068 Road Runners made in 1972, this Road Runner was extremely well cared for its entire life. The body is rust free and has been beautifully refinished in original Rallye Red about five years ago using base coat clear coat. Factory pinstripe is also new. Both look incredible Chrome is brilliant with no pitting anywhere. All trim is in excellent condition as well. All body panels are super straight and there are no abnormal gaps. All door, window and trunk lid rubber is new. Overall, the exterior is immaculate. Interior is white from the factory. All door panels and seats are in excellent condition. There are no seat or dash cracks at all. Black carpet & headliner are new. Power brakes, power steering and rarely seen power windows are all part of this cars factory options. Factory AM-FM radio is still in the car and a new AM-FM stereo & CD player is hidden in the glove box. Beep-Beep horn, 150mph speedometer and all features and options work perfectly. Odometer reads 34000 which we will certify as correct. , Matching numbers 340ci engine, 4speed Hurst Pistol Grip shifter and manual transmission, dual exhaust, electronic ignition are all factory options. There have been NO aftermarket changes to the engine components of this car. Engine Block casting number 2780930-340 dated 9/27/71. Engine block pan rail stamp reads R195808 and tranny pad reads 2R195808 / PP8363749-0-50. Even the radiator support stamp reads correct, 195808. The engine bay has been nicely detailed as the photos will clearly show. , Only 7068 Road Runners were produced in 1972. They were still very powerful despite 1972 being the beginning of the end for the Muscle car era. The 426 and 440 were dropped and a 400ci engine was added. Despite the larger 400ci engine, the 340 was the engine to have. It was far lighter and handled far better than the 400 partially because of the front and rear sway bars. 1972 was the last year for the 340 which was replaced in '73 by the far less powerful 360ci engine. , This high winding 340ci 4speed can easily throw you back in your seat. She drives straight with NO pulling and stops as she should. The car starts immediately and drives perfectly. Tires and brakes are brand new. This era of the Road Runner is becoming popular among Mopar fans and fanatics. We suggest you take a look at this one. It is certainly one of the nicest Road Runners from this era and still very reasonably priced. You WILL spend well over $50k for a 69 or 70 Road Runner in this condition and engine package; if you can find one. Save yourself $20-$30k and get the next best thing.
