This awesome Mercedes is the desired Euro model, which is nearly impossible to find especially in this condition because this vehicle was never marketed in the USA. This vehicle possesses the sought after extremely rare manual transmission coupled with the straight 6 engine. In addition this solid example has very low original mileage. It includes both hard and soft tops., While very clean and nice all around, this car is original, not restored, and does show some wear. It’s certainly in excellent shape but not show quality. The weight is well balanced front to rear., This 280SL was purchased in Germany and after a three month sightseeing holiday, then shipped to the USA to enjoy the country club life. The only modification was to change the headlights and that was based on taste preference. Upon entry no modifications were made to the engine nor were any large intrusive bumpers installed. Unfortunately the car outlived its original owner and was passed onto his son. He had hoped his wife would enjoy it as much as his Dad but she never quite took to the manual transmission.
