This is 1 of only 113 Galaxie 500XL convertibles with a 429ci, 4bbl carb & 4 spd tranny. Crazy rare! Matching numbers muscle with original build sheets, Marti report, window sticker, owners manual, original brochure & more. , , The interior is in excellent condition. Seating is as good as new, move freelyy & have seat belts front & back . Everything works including the heat, hide-a-way headlights, directionals, wipers, horn, ALL gauges and the white power top which is also in excellent condition. The AM-FM stereo works but needs an antenna. Carpet & dash pad are new as well. , , Paint was redone in its original Candy Apple red. It shines great and is very presentable but is not perfect. Chrome shines with no pitting. There is slight pitting to the pot metal that surrounds the rear taillight on the right side only. It is shown in the pictures but is hard to see. Overall, we would rate the exterior of this car as an 8 out of 10. , , The real value of this car is in its outrageous powerplant. A matching numbers 429-4V 360hp 4spd transmission, one of only 113 as documented by the Marti Report. Better yet, this engine starts, idles & drives perfectly, shifts smoothly and gets to 60mph real fast. , , Nothing is needed. Just get in & go. Still has her original Ford wheels.
