1973 – 1979 marked the 6th generation for Ford’s F-Series. This generation is known for the durability of its body panels as Ford used excessive amounts of galvanized sheet metal to fight corrosion. In 1976, the F-Series became the best-selling truck in America, a position it has continued to hold ever since. 1978 marked the most noticeable change since 1973 when the split grille was overhauled in favor of a single-piece grille insert design. The new grille no longer incorporated the headlights and turn signals. Instead the headlights were placed in housings besides the grille, and the park-turn signal lamps were now placed below the headlights. In 1979, the round headlights were completely replaced by rectangular headlamps. The original 351 was replaced with a 302 that runs great and is effortlessly shifted with its 4 speed tranny. The 302 has been fitted with a performance intake, a 4 bbl carb, a performance ignition, headers and it sounds great with its performance exhaust. It was repainted a few years ago in a gorgeous Dark Silver Metallic that is accented with a Medium Blue Metallic accents that are a perfect match to its original blue interior. The paint is little older and has a few imperfections but looks great overall. The interior is all original except for the Rebel Flag head liner and aftermarket cassette player. The cassette player is a shaft drive installed where the original radio was without any cutting. There is a Kenwood CD player mounted under the dash but it is not working properly. The brakes and tires have less than 2,000 miles on them and the whole look of the truck is set off by the sweet chrome baby moons.
