Ford is one of the largest automaker in the U.S. and the fifth largest in the world based on annual car sales, having been approved by the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group in 2010. By late 2010, Ford was the largest automaker fifth in Europe. Ford is the eighth in the overall ranking American company based in the 2010 Fortune 500 list, based on overall revenues in 2009 of 118.3 billion U.S. dollars. In 2008, Ford produced 5.532 million automobiles and employed about 213,000 employees in about 90 plants and facilities worldwide. During the crisis of the car, drive global volume of Ford fell to 4.817 million in 2009. Despite the adverse conditions, Ford ended 2009 with net income of $ 2.7 billion. Since 2007, Ford received more awards for initial quality survey by JD Power and Associates than any other automaker. Five Ford vehicles placed on top of their categories and fourteen vehicles ranked in the top three.
