Known to some as the "Poor Man's Cadillac", Buick is currently the oldest American still-active automotive make, and among the oldest automobile brands in the world. This Second Generation LeSabre comes from a Model line of 9 generations, spanning 46 years. Once a nearly completed cosmetic restoration show car, this Buick is now in need of a new loving home. The restoration was begun and abruptly ended in 2001. It has been modified partially from stock with a custom paint job, and custom spoke rims. The exhaust has been replaced from the exhaust manifold connection to the rear with glass pack style mufflers and chrome exhaust tips. This exhaust system is very loud. The overall condition of this car is not bad. The body is relatively straight and aside from some small rust areas showing thru the paint at the lower levels of the doors and fenders, there is no other signs of rust damage. The paint is of decent quality and may be able to be wet sanded and buffed to its previous glory. The interior has been redone in the past and due to lack of care is showing its age. The car is seemingly in good mechanical shape. The engine runs well after warming up and the transmission (rebuilt in 2001 but no supporting documentation) shifts good. The car drives and handle pretty good but the brake system will need overhaul. The power booster is leaking and the master cylinder is bad. The car can be driven and it will stop if given enough distance. The ignition switch is bad and the wiring has been bypassed to allow the car to start. The driver's door window will need some repairs as it seems to be off track. There are numerous trim pieces as well as the original rims and hubcaps included. All of the missing trim items from the car appear to be available but not installed. The registration is expired in the State of California since 2001 and it is unknown if there are any fees related to the car. Generally after 5 years in California there is no registration fees or history attached.
